We will be delivering a series of one hour updating sessions on company, commercial and corporate law in Cambridge. This is the first of three sessions, spread over a number of months. The sessions will be CPD-accredited and will be free of charge. The first session will take place on 28th November 2011 at 0830.
The aim of the training is to review current developments, to encourage questions and contributions from the audience and to assess the significance of developments to practice and procedure. They are similar to update sessions that we currently deliver to City firms (but with the heavy-duty, corporate regulatory aspects toned down a bit).
The first seminar will include
- Supreme Court guidance on interpretation of contracts
- Guidance on drafting from the Supreme Court
- Court of Appeal decision on the availability of rectification and the dangers associated with sharp practice
- Corporate manslaughter – latest developments
- Unlawful distribution or valid transaction? Important High Court decision and review of recent case law
- Guarantees and non-compete provisions – clarification by the Supreme Court and practical effects on drafting guarantees
- Unfair prejudice and arbitration – Court of Appeal
- Corporate governance – changes to the Code
